About The Position

The Seasonal Early Morning Freight Associate supports store operations by helping customers, sharing product knowledge, promoting store events and promotions, addressing customer concerns, communicating merchandise and service needs to management, and working with the team toward store and company goals. The role involves frequent use of store technology and equipment, handling and stocking merchandise, moving throughout the sales floor and stock room, and working a flexible schedule that may include overnight shifts and weekends. Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Available to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including day, evening, and weekend shifts; schedules may include overnight shifts and travel as required.
Comfortable using technology or willing to learn, including computers, cash registers, hand-held devices, and mobile devices.
Able to communicate effectively and engage with customers.
Able to handle customer interactions and potential concerns courteously and professionally.
Able to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
Able to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
Able to frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5 to 10 feet.
Able to frequently climb and descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
Able to frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
Able to frequently move across the sales floor and between the sales floor and stock room.
Able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
Able to identify and understand email and printed instructions about merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
Able to exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone.

Responsibilities

Greet and acknowledge customers promptly, assist them, and handle multiple customer interactions efficiently.
Assess customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing customers to merchandise, and making recommendations.
Use suggestive selling and stay informed about product availability.
Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
Address customer concerns and use product knowledge to propose solutions, including exchanges when appropriate.
Communicate merchandise restocking needs, service requirements, and customer feedback to management in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the team to support store and company objectives and maintain a positive, productive work environment.
Move, retrieve, and put away merchandise throughout the sales floor and stock room.
