About The Position

Nordstrom Rack is hiring seasonal customer service team members for Sales, Cashier, Stock, and/or Fulfillment roles at Shelbyville Plaza Rack. Team members help make shopping quick, easy, and enjoyable while assisting customers in finding merchandise and great deals. Applicants can discuss their preferred role during the interview process. The position requires clear communication, accountability, initiative, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Schedules are flexible based on business needs. Stock Support and Fulfillment roles require frequent lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds. Pay is $15.75–$16.35 per hour; offers depend on location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The position may be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.

Responsibilities

For Sales and Cashier roles, greet customers and guide them to fitting rooms, then sort and return clothing to the sales floor.
Encourage and support initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Keep stockrooms organized and complete inventory processes, including checking in and accurately ticketing merchandise.
Maintain a runway-ready sales floor by re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day.
Assist customers with transactions in a seamless and friendly manner.
Demonstrate expertise in technologies used in the store environment.
Resolve customer situations in a timely and effective manner.
For Stock Support and Fulfillment roles, receive and unload freight, unpack merchandise, and deliver newly arrived goods to selling departments.
Fulfill customer orders promptly and in accordance with quality standards.
Prepare and ship customer orders according to quality, packing, and shipping standards.
Use inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments in accordance with inventory control processes.
Help maintain clean and organized sales floors and stockrooms.
Provide general store support, including setting up special events, organizing the backroom, completing markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
