About The Position

As a Famous Footwear Seasonal Associate, you help create a welcoming store environment and provide an engaging shoe-shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty. You share knowledge of shoe trends and brands, help customers find styles that meet their needs, and contribute to a positive in-store culture. You work collaboratively with the team and celebrate individual and team successes.

You support daily retail operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory, while helping keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. You provide attentive customer engagement, support sales goals, communicate with teammates, follow company policies, and seek feedback to develop your skills. You also help uphold an inclusive and respectful workplace and assist with teammate training and development when needed.

This is a seasonal position. Other responsibilities may be performed as needed to meet business needs, and overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers as needed.
• Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily store tasks such as pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Help maintain a clean, organized store where merchandise is easy to shop.
• Provide attentive customer engagement and consistently strong customer experiences.
• Recommend shoes and styles that suit customers’ needs and help them find the right fit.
• Review store performance and contribute to sales goals.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to teammates.
• Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and pursue skill development.
• Promote an inclusive, respectful, positive, and supportive work environment.
• Assist with teammate training and development when needed.
• Work additional hours when required to meet business needs.
