Seasonal Associate - Famous Footwear
About The Position
As a Famous Footwear Seasonal Associate, you provide a welcoming store environment and engaging customer experiences while helping customers find athletic, fashion, and casual shoes. You stay informed about trends, share product knowledge, and contribute to a customer-focused culture that builds loyalty to the store, brands, and company. You help keep daily store operations running smoothly, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory. You maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store; support sales goals; communicate effectively with teammates; follow company policies; and contribute to an inclusive, positive team environment. The role may also involve assisting with teammate training and development. This position requires a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours. Overtime may be required. Physical duties include lifting up to 40 pounds and frequent movement on the sales floor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
- Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers as needed.
- Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
- Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily retail tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy to shop according to company standards.
- Provide attentive customer engagement and help customers find styles, brands, and footwear that suit their needs.
- Stay informed about trends and share product knowledge with customers.
- Review store performance and help drive sales to achieve goals.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to teammates.
- Follow company policies and procedures, act with integrity, and seek feedback for professional development.
- Promote an inclusive and respectful work environment and maintain a positive, proactive attitude.
- Support teammates and assist with training and development when needed.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed to meet the needs of the business.
