About The Position

As a Famous Footwear Seasonal Associate, you help provide a welcoming, engaging shoe-store experience for every customer. You stay informed about trends, share your knowledge, recommend styles that meet customers’ needs, and help them find the right fit. You contribute to a positive in-store culture, support the team, and help customers build loyalty to the store, its brands, and the company.

You help keep store operations running smoothly by completing daily tasks such as pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory work. You maintain a clean, organized store where merchandise is easy to shop, follow company policies and procedures, and communicate effectively with teammates. You support sales goals, take accountability for your performance, and welcome feedback to develop your skills. You also help teammates with training and development when needed.

This is a seasonal role. Overtime may be required to meet business needs. The position involves a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours, as well as physical activity such as lifting and extended periods of mobility on the sales floor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion while partnering with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers as needed.
• Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
• Overtime may be required to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily store operations tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy to shop.
• Provide attentive, engaging customer service and recommend styles and brands suited to customer needs.
• Stay informed about trends and share product knowledge with customers.
• Support store sales goals, review store performance, and take accountability for individual effort and its impact.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and actively listen to ensure understanding.
• Follow company policies and procedures and seek feedback to improve skills and professional development.
• Promote an inclusive, respectful, positive, and supportive work environment.
• Assist teammates with training and development when needed.
