About The Position

As a Famous Footwear Seasonal Associate, you help provide an engaging shoe-store experience by creating a welcoming environment, connecting customers with styles and brands that meet their needs, and supporting a positive in-store culture. You stay informed about trends, share your knowledge with customers, and contribute to individual and team success.

You support daily retail operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory, while helping keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. You uphold company standards and policies, communicate effectively with teammates, take accountability for your impact on store performance, and help drive sales toward store goals. You also promote an inclusive and respectful workplace and may assist with training and development.

This seasonal role requires schedule flexibility to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours. Overtime may be required. The position involves frequent movement and lifting, including regularly lifting up to 40 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion while partnering with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers as needed.
• Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Help keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy to shop.
• Provide attentive customer engagement and recommend shoes and styles that fit customers’ needs.
• Stay informed about trends and share relevant knowledge with customers.
• Support store sales goals and take accountability for individual effort and its effect on store performance.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to ensure understanding.
• Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and work on professional development.
• Promote an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment and support teammates.
• Assist with training and development when needed.
