Seasonal Associate - Famous Footwear
About The Position
As a Famous Footwear Seasonal Associate, you help create the welcoming in-store environment and customer experience that encourages customers to return to the store, its brands, and the company. You stay informed about trends, share product knowledge, and help customers find shoes that suit their needs and fit well. You support daily retail operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory, while keeping the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. You contribute to store sales goals, communicate effectively with the team, follow company policies and procedures, and help foster an inclusive, positive work environment. You may also assist with teammate training and development. This seasonal role may require overtime to meet business needs. The position requires a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours, as well as frequent movement and lifting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
- Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in partnership with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers as needed.
- Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
- Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy for customers to shop.
- Engage customers and provide attentive service, product knowledge, and shoe recommendations.
- Review store performance and contribute to achieving sales goals.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to teammates.
- Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and work to develop job skills.
- Support an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment.
- Assist with training and development of teammates when needed.
