About The Position

As a Famous Footwear Seasonal Associate, you provide a welcoming, engaging shoe-store experience for every customer. You help customers find styles and brands that suit their needs while sharing knowledge of footwear trends and supporting customer loyalty. You contribute to a positive, inclusive store culture and celebrate individual and team successes.

You help keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop by completing daily retail operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory tasks. You support sales goals, communicate effectively with the store team, follow company policies and procedures, and welcome feedback to develop your skills. You may also assist teammates with training and development when needed.

This role is seasonal. Business needs may require overtime and a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours. The position involves extended mobility on the sales floor and frequent physical activity, including lifting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion while partnering with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers as needed.
• Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
• Overtime hours may be required to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily store tasks such as pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy for customers to shop.
• Provide attentive, engaging customer service and recommend shoes and styles that fit customers’ needs.
• Stay informed about trends and share relevant knowledge with customers.
• Review store performance and contribute to sales goals with accountability and urgency.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to support shared understanding.
• Follow company policies and procedures, act with integrity, and seek feedback for professional development.
• Promote an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment and support teammates, including assisting with training and development when needed.
