About The Position

The Seasonal Associate at Famous Footwear provides a welcoming in-store experience and helps customers find shoes that meet their needs. The role supports store operations, contributes to a positive and inclusive team culture, shares knowledge of footwear trends, and helps drive sales and customer loyalty. Associates are expected to uphold company policies, take feedback, and assist teammates with training and development when needed.

This seasonal role supports a hands-on retail team environment. Overtime may be required to meet business needs, and the schedule may include holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion while partnering with the Store Sales Manager and/or Assistant Managers as needed.
• Working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy to shop according to company standards.
• Engage customers attentively and provide consistently strong customer experiences.
• Review store performance and help drive sales to achieve goals.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to ensure understanding.
• Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and work to improve skills and professional development.
• Help create an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment and support teammates.
• Assist with training and development of teammates when needed.
• Recommend shoes and styles that meet customers’ needs and help customers find the right fit.
• Perform other responsibilities as needed to meet business needs.
