About The Position

Alterations Specialists complete fittings and alterations to David’s Bridal standards and report to the Store Manager. They provide friendly, knowledgeable service and technical expertise, exemplify the David’s Bridal brand, and contribute to a superior customer experience. The role involves managing fittings and garment alterations, advising customers on fit and customization, supporting sales, and ensuring garments are ready for delivery in pristine condition.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
• Prior sewing experience.

Nice To Haves

• Sewing experience in a bridal or special-occasion production environment.
• Prior experience with a computerized point-of-sale (POS) system.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly in person, by phone, and through virtual chats; communicate clearly, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
• Use store systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five-star customer experience.
• Maintain service standards, complete operational checklist tasks, and address customers’ practical and emotional needs.
• Provide exceptional service to multiple customers at once and contribute to the store’s customer-service goals.
• Address customer concerns and escalate or partner with store leadership when appropriate.
• Explain and promote alteration services and personalization options.
• Consult with customers about gown fit and customization to assist stylists in closing sales.
• Maintain store standards and comply with the dress code.
• Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments.
• Inspect altered, steamed, or pressed garments to ensure they meet quality standards before delivery.
• Respond promptly to customer questions with product and service information and build customer relationships.
• Process special orders and pickups, manage inventory, and maintain merchandise quality standards.
• Ensure alteration pricing meets company standards.
• Perform alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning according to company standards.
• Resolve customer service issues promptly and in accordance with company guidelines.
• Support cash-wrap procedures and accurately process transactions.
• Keep the alterations room clean and well organized.
• Perform other duties and tasks assigned by store management.
