About The Position

Alterations Specialists complete fittings and alterations to David’s Bridal standards and report to the Store Manager. They demonstrate friendly, knowledgeable customer service and technical expertise while supporting the store team and representing the David’s Bridal brand. The role includes sewing, fittings, steaming, pressing, spot cleaning, garment inspections, and helping customers understand alteration and personalization options. Alterations Specialists also support sales, customer flow, store operations, and a clean, organized alterations room.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
Prior sewing experience.
Ability to perform fittings and sewing to David’s Bridal standards.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Manual dexterity to sew, perform fittings, operate POS terminals, count money, steam garments, use computers, and handle telephone calls.
Ability to see up close and at a distance, use peripheral vision and depth perception, and use computers, electronic devices, and phones for extended periods.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, twist, and move throughout the store.
Ability to talk to and hear customers.

Nice To Haves

Prior sewing experience in a bridal and/or special occasion production environment is preferred.
Prior experience with a computerized POS system is a plus.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers in person, by phone, and through virtual chats; communicate clearly and adapt service to customer needs.
Use store systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five-star customer experience.
Address customer concerns, resolve service issues, and escalate matters to the leadership team when appropriate.
Explain alteration and personalization services and assist stylists with gown-fit and customization consultations.
Maintain store standards and comply with the Dress Code Policy.
Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments.
Inspect altered, steamed, and pressed garments to verify their condition before delivery.
Respond to customer questions with product and service information and build customer relationships.
Process special-order pickups and maintain merchandise quality and inventory standards.
Ensure alteration pricing meets company standards.
Perform alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning to company standards.
Support cash-wrap activities and process transactions accurately.
Keep the alterations room clean and organized.
Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
