About The Position
Salt & Straw is hiring seasonal Scoopers to create memorable guest experiences. In addition to serving ice cream, Scoopers guide guests through flavors, share ingredient stories, and build meaningful connections. The role suits people who enjoy working with others, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and value kindness, curiosity, and hospitality. Scoopers help the shop run smoothly by serving guests, preparing products to recipe and quality standards, processing transactions, fulfilling online and delivery orders, restocking supplies and products, and maintaining food safety and cleanliness. Team members work collaboratively and may support dishwashing, cleaning, and other operational tasks. The position is at the Lincoln Road location in Miami Beach, Florida. The role involves exposure to common food allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, and seafood.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to work at least three shifts per week, including two closing shifts.
- Enjoy working with people and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Have strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy staying busy.
- Work well as part of a team and support teammates.
- Be curious, dependable, and eager to learn.
- Be comfortable discussing flavors, offering samples, and engaging with guests.
Nice To Haves
- Food service, retail, coffee, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create welcoming experiences for every guest.
- Share flavor stories, offer samples, and help guests discover flavors.
- Scoop ice cream, make waffle cones, operate the register, and support daily shop operations.
- Greet guests, answer questions, and help guide the flow of the shop.
- Accurately process transactions and assist with online and delivery orders.
- Prepare products according to recipes and quality standards.
- Restock ice cream, supplies, and retail products throughout the shift.
- Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and organization standards across the shop.
- Support dishwashing, cleaning, and other operational tasks.
- Work collaboratively with teammates to create a positive and supportive environment.
