About The Position
Salt & Straw is hiring Scoopers to create memorable guest experiences and help the shop run smoothly. Scoopers welcome guests, guide them through the flavors, share ingredient stories, offer samples, and build meaningful connections. The role includes scooping ice cream, making waffle cones, operating the register, processing online and delivery orders, preparing products to recipe and quality standards, restocking, and maintaining food safety and cleanliness. Team members work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and may need to work evenings, weekends, holidays, at least three shifts per week, including two closing shifts. The position is part-time and based at Bishop Ranch in San Ramon, California. Pay is $16.90 per hour, with average tips of $8.46 noted in the job title. The workplace may contain common food allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, and seafood.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to work at least three shifts per week, including two closing shifts.

Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create welcoming experiences for guests.
- Share flavor stories, offer samples, and help guests discover flavors.
- Scoop ice cream, make waffle cones, operate the register, and support daily shop operations.
- Greet guests, answer questions, and help guide the flow of the shop.
- Process transactions accurately and assist with online and delivery orders.
- Prepare products according to recipes and quality standards.
- Restock ice cream, supplies, and retail products throughout the shift.
- Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and organization standards across the shop.
- Support dishwashing, cleaning, and other operational tasks.
- Collaborate with teammates to create a positive and supportive environment.
