About The Position

Salt & Straw is hiring Scoopers to create memorable guest experiences through exceptional service, hospitality, and sharing the stories behind its ice cream flavors. Scoopers help guests explore flavors, offer samples, prepare and serve products, and support the smooth operation of the shop. The role includes customer-facing service and operational duties in a fast-paced food-service environment. The position involves exposure to common food allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, and seafood.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to work at least three shifts per week, including two closing shifts.
• Enjoy working with people and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and stay busy.
• Able to work as part of a team and support coworkers.
• Curious, dependable, and eager to learn.
• Comfortable discussing flavors, offering samples, and engaging with guests.
• The role involves exposure to common food allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, and seafood.

• Food service, retail, coffee, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create welcoming experiences for guests.
• Share flavor stories, offer samples, and help guests discover flavors.
• Scoop ice cream, make waffle cones, operate the register, and support daily shop operations.
• Greet guests, answer questions, and help guide the flow of the shop.
• Process transactions accurately and assist with online and delivery orders.
• Prepare products according to recipes and quality standards.
• Restock ice cream, supplies, and retail products during shifts.
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and organization standards across the shop.
• Support dishwashing, cleaning, and other operational tasks.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a positive and supportive work environment.
