About The Position
Salt & Straw is hiring Scoopers to create memorable guest experiences and help the shop run smoothly. Scoopers serve ice cream while guiding guests through flavors, sharing ingredient stories, offering samples, and building meaningful connections. The role involves working with people in a fast-paced environment and contributing to a welcoming, kind, curious, and hospitable atmosphere. The position includes scooping ice cream, making waffle cones, operating the register, processing transactions, supporting online and delivery orders, and preparing products according to recipes and quality standards. Scoopers also restock products and supplies, maintain food safety and cleanliness, assist with dishwashing and other operational tasks, and collaborate with teammates. The role involves exposure to common food allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, and seafood. Salt & Straw participates in E-Verify to confirm work authorization and provides equal opportunity to applicants.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to work at least three shifts per week, including two closing shifts.
- Enjoy working with people and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and stay busy.
- Ability to work as part of a team and support others.
- Curiosity, dependability, and eagerness to learn.
- Comfort discussing flavors, offering samples, and engaging with guests.
- Food service, retail, coffee, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create welcoming experiences for guests.
- Share flavor stories, offer samples, and help guests discover flavors.
- Scoop ice cream, make waffle cones, operate the register, and support daily shop operations.
- Greet guests, answer questions, and help guide the flow of the shop.
- Accurately process transactions and assist with online and delivery orders.
- Prepare products according to recipes and quality standards.
- Restock ice cream, supplies, and retail products throughout the shift.
- Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and organization standards across the shop.
- Support dishwashing, cleaning, and other operational tasks.
- Collaborate with teammates to create a positive and supportive environment.
