About The Position

Under limited supervision, the licensed practical nurse (LPN) delivers patient care to assigned patients using the nursing processes of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Care must comply with federal, state, and local laws and with the standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility where the LPN works. The role involves pediatric care for a patient with a tracheostomy, ventilator, and G-tube. The schedule is part time on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Active North Carolina nursing license.
• Reliable transportation.
• Provide a copy of current TB results or a chest X-ray.
• Provide a copy of current CPR certification as required by agency policy.
• Be flexible and organized, and demonstrate the ability to exercise independent and sound judgment in performing job duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing as ordered in the plan of treatment and nursing care plan.
• Identify and follow through on new problems, changes, and resolutions, documenting them in clinical notes, supplemental physical orders, and the nursing care plan.
• Communicate skilled observations and significant changes in patient status to the Director of Clinical Services and/or Clinical Manager.
• Request modifications to orders or additional orders based on the patient’s clinical status and skilled nursing judgment.
• Participate in other agency-mandated activities, such as in-services, as requested by the Agency Director.
• Adhere to MGA policies, procedures, and Handbook.
• Report on time and as scheduled to complete work within the designated time.
