About The Position

Interim HealthCare Staffing is hiring a School Nurse (LPN/RN) in Carbondale, Pennsylvania. The nurse provides care and support to students, helping maintain a safe and caring school environment across elementary and high school settings. The role includes caring for students with acute illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions, and supporting their health and well-being through assessment, treatment, education, and collaboration with school staff and families.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active nursing license in Pennsylvania.
• At least 1 year of experience in pediatric, school health, or community health nursing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong assessment skills and critical thinking.
• Ability to work independently.
• Compassionate communication skills and a commitment to collaboration with students, staff, and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to students for acute illnesses, injuries, and chronic health conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies.
• Monitor and manage student health records to ensure compliance with state regulations.
• Develop and implement care plans for students with medical needs.
• Educate students, staff, and parents on health topics, including disease prevention, hygiene, and wellness.
• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
• Collaborate with school staff and community health resources to support student well-being.
