About The Position
Interim HealthCare is hiring an experienced school nurse for its staffing team. The nurse provides health services to students at elementary, middle, and high schools, treating injuries and illnesses, supporting students with chronic illnesses, and promoting preventive care through education about communicable diseases and proper hygiene. The role requires comfort with feeding tubes, tracheostomies, and medication administration. Scheduling is flexible, with nurses able to select shifts based on availability; shifts are Monday through Friday at varying times depending on the school.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Active RN or LPN license in Missouri.
- At least 2 years of nursing experience in a medical facility.
- CPR certification.
- Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated clinical proficiency, critical-thinking skills, strong communication skills, and compassion.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate with children, parents or guardians, and teachers.
- Comfort with feeding tubes, tracheostomies, and medication administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide health services to students while they are at school.
- Treat student injuries and mild to acute illnesses.
- Support students with chronic illnesses.
- Educate students about preventing communicable diseases and maintaining proper hygiene.
- Administer medications and provide care involving feeding tubes and tracheostomies.
