Scattered Site Housing Stabilization Specialist

Episcopal Community Services (ECS)•San Francisco, CA
•$26 - $30•Onsite

About The Position

Episcopal Community Services (ECS) is expanding its Mainstream Voucher (MSV) program, a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program for disabled adults experiencing homelessness. Participants are approved by the San Francisco Housing Authority. ECS provides application assistance and outreach, and offers housing stabilization services for up to two years after participants are housed. A community-based partner handles housing location and subsidy administration. Scattered Site Housing Stabilization Specialists advocate for participants as they locate and obtain housing in San Francisco or surrounding counties, and support them through the transition to and stabilization in housing. Services may be delivered at an ECS office, a participant’s housing unit, or another convenient location. This is a fully onsite, client-facing role; remote work is not available. The job may change as ECS and its external partners refine program approaches and services. The role involves working with participants who may experience homelessness, behavioral health conditions, substance use challenges, and other difficult circumstances. Employees are expected to use sound judgment, stay aware of their surroundings, follow safety, communication, and de-escalation procedures, complete required training, and promptly report incidents and unsafe conditions. Specialists work within an integrated services team and an environment dedicated to harm reduction, recovery, and wellness.
