About The Position

CHS Inc. is seeking a part-time Scale Operator in Newark, Illinois, to support grain operations. The role weighs and grades inbound and outbound loads, assists customers, and handles scale documentation. The schedule is flexible and based on business demand, with hours varying throughout the year. Work typically increases during the spring and fall harvest seasons, when employees may work 40 or more hours per week; during slower periods, hours are reduced and scheduled as needed to support facility operations.

Requirements

• 0–6+ months of experience in operations, business operations, and/or customer service.
• Ability to work varying hours based on business demand.
• General data-entry and computer skills.
• Ability to work longer days, weekends, and/or holidays during peak seasons.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and grade grain in inbound and outbound trucks using computer and manual measurement tools.
• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous customer service.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and direct them as needed.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Assist other personnel as needed.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture; follow safety policies, procedures, and regulations; identify and communicate workplace hazards; and correct or seek assistance correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
