About The Position

Staiman Recycling Corporation is hiring a full-time Scale House Operator at its Elmira, New York location. The position serves as the first point of contact for customers entering the yard and involves weighing scrap materials, processing transactions, keeping records, and coordinating with yard personnel and drivers. The company seeks a dependable, organized, customer-focused person who is comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with Saturday hours from 8:00 AM to noon. Requirements

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide professional customer service.
• Weigh inbound and outbound scrap materials.
• Accurately process customer transactions using company software (RIMAS).
• Obtain and verify customer information for purchases and payments.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and daily documentation.
• Communicate with yard personnel and drivers regarding traffic flow and loads.
• Assist with general office and administrative tasks as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
