About The Position

The Scale House Operator performs grain receiving and shipping transactions, assists the Grain Merchant with customer relations and grain procurement, and assists the Administration Manager with projects and tasks. The role also supports grain, chemical, and co-product operations and logistics. The operator is expected to follow food safety regulations and company policies to protect the integrity of food-grade production processes.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Ability to obtain a grain grader's license.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word and Excel.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English and communicate with truck drivers and office personnel.
Attention to detail and ability to self-check work for accuracy, clarity, and thoroughness.
Organizational skills to meet deadlines promptly.
Ability to arrive at work on time.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain customer relationships.
Assist with grain inbound and outbound functions.
Assist with chemical deliveries.
Assist with inbound and outbound co-product functions.
Assist with logistics for inbound grain.
Answer inbound customer calls and handle multiple customers at the same time.
Weigh trucks accurately and promptly, including byproduct and chemical trucks.
Accurately grade incoming and outgoing samples.
Perform toxin lab testing on inbound corn.
Follow food safety regulations, corporate guidelines, company policies, and confidentiality requirements.
Work professionally and respectfully with employees and vendors, and make guests feel welcome.
Perform other tasks and related duties as needed.
