About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring a Scale Attendant for its transfer station in Rochester, Massachusetts. The role involves welcoming and directing customers and employees, recording load weights in the computer system, collecting required signatures, calculating customer payments, and completing end-of-day cash and payment-system reconciliation. The attendant also checks incoming garbage loads for safety and inappropriate materials and provides friendly, service-oriented interactions. The position pays $23.00 per hour and is overtime eligible. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; flexible availability, including weekends, is also required.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Greet and direct customers and employees when they enter the transfer station.
Record weight information from the scale in the computer system and obtain appropriate signatures.
Calculate customer payments.
Balance the cash drawer and reconcile the credit card machine or POS system as part of closing duties.
Ensure incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain inappropriate material.
Interact with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
