About The Position

Talbots is hiring a temporary, part-time Sales Support associate for its Ithaca, New York store. The role supports customers and the store team by delivering an engaging service experience, sharing product and styling knowledge, and helping achieve sales and service goals. It also includes greeting customers, answering calls, assisting management with store business, and completing operational projects such as filling orders, replenishment, folding, and recovery. The position requires a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, along with regular movement and extended periods of standing.

• Ability to climb ladders, move around regularly, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, and stretch for products, and lift, carry, and move at least 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes products and builds brand relationships.
• Welcome customers warmly as a greeter and/or answer the phone.
• Assist the management team in building store business.
• Support service enhancers and build strong customer relationships.
• Serve multiple customers at a time, multitask, and handle projects simultaneously.
• Stay aware of fashion trends and learn about new arrivals, including product fit, color, and fashion details.
• Use product knowledge and fashion expertise to create outfits and recommend items to customers.
• Participate in learning opportunities and accept direction, coaching, and feedback to maximize performance.
• Support sales and service metrics, including clienteling and outreach, appointment setting, and Talbots Classic Awards.
• Complete assigned projects and operational tasks, including filling orders, replenishment, folding, and recovery.
