About The Position

The Sales and Events Coordinator will drive private dining and catering revenue by prospecting new business development opportunities while maintaining current client relationships through proactive outreach and managing all new sales & events inquiries. The successful candidate will be capable of communicating clearly with clients and exceeding the guests’ expectations while planning their event. Strong networking skills, a solid external sales background, a connection within the community and the ability to assess professional opportunities in order to build incremental sales is expected. This role requires someone who is detail orientated, has impeccable follow through and is confident in selling the brand. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have the ability to work independently a majority of the time, have a positive attitude, and will have exceptional written and verbal skills.

Requirements

  • Requires at least 2 years outside sales experience in a full-service, high volume restaurant or hotel operation.
  • Proven track record on the ability to create and maintain relationships and partnerships on behalf of the company.
  • Individual must be able to meet deadlines and multi-task on a regular basis with attention to detail and familiarity with addressing complex problems. Must possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Must be self-directed, motivated and diplomatic.
  • Ability to research, identify and connect with new business opportunities; Is comfortable with, and can successfully execute basic sales tactics such as cold calling, visiting clients and sending follow up communication.
  • Ability to understand how a company operates, generates value, and competes in the marketplace.
  • Must possess the highest level of integrity.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.

  • Intentionally managing personal time, focus, and calendars to prioritize sales‑driving activities, reporting analysis and proactive sales leadership—while minimizing low‑value or reactive work.
  • Maintaining disciplined execution and role focus by meeting commitments, holding self accountable for results, and clearly distinguishing sales responsibilities from operational matters.

Responsibilities

  • Position is based in a restaurant, 30-40 hours week, and requires reliable attendance and reliable transportation. Most work will be expected to be completed Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the time zone of your dedicated restaurant(s).
  • Responsible for growing sales over prior year for one or more restaurants.
  • Identify and secure new corporate and social event clients through prospecting and networking.
  • Conduct venue tours and negotiate contracts to meet monthly and annual revenue goals.
  • Manage a sales pipeline of inquiries, prospects, and definite bookings.
  • With the Director of Sales & Events, plan, develop and implement a comprehensive sales action plan, goals and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clients to customize food and beverage menus.
  • Create detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and communicate event layouts, A/V needs, and timelines with management.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and management to ensure operations is able to flawlessly execute the event.
  • Nurture lasting relationships with recurring clients, event planners, and local vendors.
  • Address client feedback, negotiate pricing, and ensure contracts balance customer satisfaction with profitability.
  • Fosters and maintains relationships with community decision makers, hotel general managers/sales directors, meeting planners and local business leaders who are potential ambassadors of our brand(s).
