About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate in the Plumbing department, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help customers find products and services for home improvement needs. You interact with customers, answer questions, help select and handle merchandise, occasionally load items, and work to ensure customer needs are met. Daily responsibilities may vary by department. Associates may also cross-train in other store areas and occasionally travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as plumbing.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver customer service.
Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as cutting and threading pipe.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Complete other duties as assigned.
