Sales Associate (Part-Time) - Sporting Goods/Firearms - Austin, MN
About The Position
The Sales Associate assists customers throughout the retail store, with a primary focus on providing excellent customer service. Duties may include greeting customers, answering product questions, assembling products, maintaining general housekeeping, and completing other duties assigned by the manager. The Sporting Goods/Firearms associate must know about firearms and firearms accessories and accurately complete all required FFL procedures for firearm sales. This work may require the successful candidate to be at least 18 years old. The role includes merchandising, receiving and organizing freight, assisting with cycle counts, answering telephone calls, processing customer transactions and returns, and handling cash accurately. The position reports directly to the Store Manager and has no direct supervisory authority. Work takes place in a retail store environment with cold and warm conditions and an irregular schedule. Pay is $15.00–$18.00 per hour, paid weekly, based on experience.
Requirements
- Knowledge of firearms and firearms accessories.
- Ability to accurately complete required FFL procedures for firearm sales.
- Excellent customer-service skills.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to bend and twist frequently.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in the retail store or greenhouse and assist with customer-service questions.
- Price merchandise and make price changes as requested by store management.
- Stock and face merchandise on shelves as requested by store management.
- Assist with receiving freight and organize incoming products as directed by store management.
- Assist with cycle counts.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and handle them appropriately.
- Handle customer transactions using the KCX cash register system.
- Handle cash accurately.
- Handle customer returns.
- Perform housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned.
- Answer product-related questions and assist with product assembly as needed.
- Accurately complete required FFL procedures for firearm sales.
