About The Position

The Sales Associate assists with receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise and helps maintain clean, orderly merchandise displays and overall store cleanliness. The role provides helpful, customized customer service and supports store operations, merchandising, and a positive, professional, and safe work environment. The position is at Store 166 in Livermore, California.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb.
Ability to demonstrate and incorporate the company’s Core Values: Service, Passion, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, and Excellence.

Nice To Haves

Formal retail experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware and proactively help customers solve problems.
Greet customers, thank them when transactions are finished and as they leave, and provide friendly, customized service throughout the store.
Answer pages and calls promptly, courteously, and effectively; refer customer complaints that cannot be resolved to management.
Maintain strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and product locations.
Assist with receiving, checking in, stocking, and maintaining back-stock levels of merchandise.
Help maintain the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise area, including cleanliness, orderliness, end caps, and advertised merchandise.
Assist with merchandise resets and provide Department Specialists with support such as price changes and special orders.
Ensure store signage is current.
Operate a forklift after receiving proper training.
Communicate Store Support Center issues, as well as merchandising, cost-control, or sales ideas, to the General Manager.
Participate in store meetings and maintain professional appearance and conduct.
Help create a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
