About The Position

Every Huck’s Market Sales Associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, to ensure that the shift contributes to the profitability of the store. The role provides courteous customer service, maintains store appearance and readiness, operates the shift within company guidelines, and supports sales, accounting, security, merchandising, maintenance, and safety procedures. Associates also promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app and help customers use it. The listed requirements, duties, and responsibilities may be revised, and management may assign other tasks as circumstances change.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly, including through the gasoline intercom, and provide courteous service according to Best In Class standards.
• Maintain store appearance and ensure the store is open and ready for business during all hours.
• Handle customer conflicts using the MAKE IT RIGHT method.
• Follow the company Vision/Mission Statement (T.H.A.N.K.S), applicable laws and ordinances, posted work schedule, and company policies.
• Perform tasks assigned by the Store Manager and advise the Store Manager of sales, cash, operating, or personnel discrepancies and policy violations.
• Participate in company contests and use suggestive-selling techniques.
• Complete the shift checklist and accurately record hours worked, sales, voids, refunds, and price overrides.
• Ring all sales on the sales register and comply with the Company Responsible Retailing policy.
• Treat coworkers and customers with dignity and respect.
• Follow cash-handling, vendor check-in, safe-security, register-cash, cash-drawer, and shift-change procedures; protect company cash and merchandise.
• Maintain and front coolers, drink boxes, shelves, and displays; clean and maintain equipment; prepare high-margin products as directed; and use correct merchandise pricing.
• Keep floors, windows, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and the parking lot clean; check refrigeration equipment and temperatures at least once per shift; complete shift duty checklist items; and report maintenance problems promptly.
• Follow ladder-use and lifting procedures, use wet-floor signs, and promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office.
• Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app, explain its benefits, help customers sign up and use discounts and redemption, and monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
