Store - Huck's Sales Associate
About The Position
Every Huck’s Market Sales Associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, to ensure that the shift contributes to the profitability of the store. Associates are expected to provide fast, friendly customer service and maintain high standards for store cleanliness. The role includes customer service, operating the register, shift accounting, cash handling and security, merchandising, maintenance, safety, and promoting the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app. Associates follow the posted work schedule and company policies, and perform additional tasks assigned by the Store Manager. The listed requirements, duties, and responsibilities are not exhaustive; management may revise the role or assign other tasks as circumstances change.

- Follow cash-handling, security, safety, merchandising, and maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly, including through the gasoline intercom, and provide courteous service according to company standards.
- Maintain the store’s appearance and cleanliness and ensure it is open and ready for business during all hours.
- Resolve customer conflicts using the company’s MAKE IT RIGHT method.
- Follow the company Vision/Mission Statement, applicable laws and ordinances, posted work schedule, and company guidelines and policies.
- Perform tasks assigned by the Store Manager and inform the Store Manager of sales, cash, operating, personnel, policy, or maintenance issues as appropriate.
- Participate in company contests and use suggestive selling techniques.
- Complete shift checklists and accurately record hours worked on the workstation.
- Ring all sales on the register and accurately record voids, refunds, and price overrides.
- Treat coworkers and customers with dignity and respect and comply with the Company Responsible Retailing policy.
- Follow cash-handling, vendor check-in, register, safe, cash drawer, and shift-change security procedures; help protect company assets and maintain a safe shopping and working environment.
- Keep coolers, drink boxes, shelves, and displays stocked and fronted; clean and maintain equipment and prepare high-margin products as directed.
- Use correct merchandise pricing as listed in the DSD or grocery book.
- Clean and maintain floors, windows, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and the parking lot; follow shift checklist items and check refrigeration equipment at least once per shift.
- Follow ladder, lifting, and wet-floor-sign procedures and promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office.
- Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app, explain its benefits, assist customers with signup and use, and monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
