Store - Huck's Sales Associate
About The Position
Every Huck’s Market Sales Associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, to ensure that the shift contributes to the profitability of the store. Associates are expected to provide fast, friendly customer service and maintain high standards for store cleanliness and appearance. The role includes operating the register, handling cash and other accounting duties, stocking and merchandising products, maintaining equipment and store areas, following safety and security procedures, and promoting the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app. Associates follow posted schedules and company policies and perform additional tasks assigned by the Store Manager.
Requirements
- Provide fast, friendly, courteous customer service.
- Follow company policies, procedures, schedules, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked and register transactions.
- Comply with cash-handling, security, safety, maintenance, and Responsible Retailing procedures.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly, including through the gasoline intercom, and provide courteous service according to company standards.
- Maintain store appearance and cleanliness, and ensure the store is open and ready for business during all operating hours.
- Resolve customer conflicts using the MAKE IT RIGHT method and use suggestive selling techniques.
- Perform tasks assigned by the Store Manager, follow company policies and applicable laws, and work the posted schedule unless a change is arranged with the Store Manager.
- Operate the shift within company guidelines and report sales, cash, or operating discrepancies to the Store Manager.
- Participate in company contests and remain committed to the company Vision/Mission Statement (T.H.A.N.K.S).
- Complete shift checklists, accurately record hours worked, ring all sales on the register, and record voids, refunds, and price overrides.
- Advise the Store Manager of personnel situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operations; treat coworkers and customers with dignity and respect; and comply with the Company Responsible Retailing policy.
- Follow cash-handling, vendor check-in, shift-change, register, change-fund, and safe-security procedures; protect company cash and merchandise and maintain a safe shopping and working environment.
- Keep coolers, drink boxes, shelves, and displays stocked and fronted; clean and maintain equipment; prepare high-margin products; and use correct merchandise pricing.
- Clean and maintain floors, windows, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and the parking lot; check refrigeration equipment and temperatures at least once per shift; and report maintenance problems promptly.
- Follow ladder, lifting, and wet-floor-sign procedures and promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office.
- Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app, explain its benefits, assist customers with signup and use, and monitor transactions for possible misuse of points or discounts.
