About The Position

Every Huck’s Market Sales Associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, to ensure that the shift contributes to the profitability of the store. Associates are expected to provide fast, friendly customer service and maintain high standards for store cleanliness. The role includes customer service, cash handling and accounting, security, merchandising, equipment and store maintenance, safety, and promotion of the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app. Associates follow company policies, applicable laws, posted schedules, and directions from the Store Manager. The listed duties may be revised, and other tasks may be assigned as circumstances change.

Accurately handle register transactions, cash, hours worked, and shift accounting records.
Follow company security, safety, maintenance, and responsible retailing procedures.
Treat customers and coworkers with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities

Greet customers promptly, including through the gasoline intercom, and provide courteous service according to company standards.
Maintain the store’s appearance and ensure it is open and ready for business during all hours.
Resolve customer conflicts using the company’s MAKE IT RIGHT method.
Follow the company’s Vision/Mission Statement, federal, state, and local laws, company policies, and posted work schedule.
Perform tasks assigned by the Store Manager and notify the manager of sales, cash, operating, maintenance, or personnel issues as appropriate.
Participate in company contests and use suggestive selling techniques.
Complete shift checklists and accurately record hours worked.
Ring all sales on the register and accurately record voids, refunds, and price overrides.
Treat coworkers and customers with dignity and respect, and comply with the Company Responsible Retailing policy.
Follow cash-handling, vendor check-in, shift-change, register, change-fund, and safe-security procedures; protect company assets and help maintain a safe shopping and working environment.
Keep coolers, drink boxes, shelves, and displays stocked and fronted; clean and maintain equipment and prepare high-margin products as directed.
Use correct merchandise pricing and follow direction on suggestive selling.
Clean and maintain floors, windows, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and the parking lot; check refrigeration equipment at least once per shift and report maintenance problems promptly.
Follow ladder, lifting, and wet-floor-sign procedures, and promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office.
Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app, explain its benefits, assist customers with signup and use, and monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
