About The Position

Every Huck’s Market Sales Associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, to ensure that the shift contributes to the profitability of the store. Associates are expected to provide fast, friendly customer service and maintain high standards for store cleanliness. The position may be full-time or part-time. Huck’s is a 100% employee-owned company and an equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly, including through the gasoline intercom, and provide courteous service according to company standards.
• Maintain store appearance and ensure the store is open and ready for business during all hours.
• Resolve customer conflicts using the MAKE IT RIGHT method.
• Follow the company’s vision and mission, applicable laws and policies, posted work schedules, and instructions from the Store Manager.
• Operate the shift within company guidelines and report sales, cash, operating, or personnel discrepancies and policy violations to the Store Manager.
• Participate in company contests and use suggestive selling techniques.
• Complete shift checklists, record hours worked, ring all sales, and accurately record voids, refunds, and price overrides.
• Treat co-workers and customers with dignity and respect and comply with the Company Responsible Retailing policy.
• Follow cash-handling, vendor check-in, register, safe-security, and shift-change procedures; protect company assets and maintain a safe shopping and working environment.
• Keep coolers, drink boxes, shelves, and displays stocked and fronted; clean and maintain equipment and prepare high-margin products as directed.
• Use correct merchandise pricing and follow direction on suggestive selling.
• Keep floors, windows, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and the parking lot clean; check refrigeration equipment at least once per shift and promptly report maintenance problems.
• Use ladders and lifting procedures safely, use wet-floor signs, and promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office.
• Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app, explain its benefits, help customers sign up and use it, and monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
