About The Position

Every Huck’s Market Sales Associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, to ensure that the shift contributes to the profitability of the store. The role includes serving customers, operating the register, supporting accounting and security procedures, stocking and maintaining merchandise, and keeping the store clean and safe. Sales Associates promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app and assist customers with enrollment, discounts, and redemptions. Management may revise this job description and require other tasks as circumstances change.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly, including through the gasoline intercom, and provide courteous service according to Best In Class standards.
• Maintain the store’s appearance and ensure it is open and ready for business during all hours.
• Resolve customer conflicts using the MAKE IT RIGHT method.
• Perform assigned tasks, follow the posted work schedule and company policies, and comply with applicable laws and ordinances.
• Inform the Store Manager of sales, cash, operating, or personnel discrepancies and policy violations.
• Participate in company contests and use suggestive selling techniques.
• Complete shift checklists, record hours worked, ring all sales, and accurately record voids, refunds, and price overrides.
• Follow the Company Responsible Retailing policy and treat co-workers and customers with dignity and respect.
• Follow cash-handling, asset-protection, vendor check-in, register, safe-security, and shift-change procedures.
• Keep coolers, drink boxes, shelves, and displays stocked and fronted; clean and maintain equipment and prepare high-margin products as directed.
• Use correct merchandise pricing and apply suggestive selling techniques as directed by the Store Manager.
• Keep floors, windows, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and the parking lot clean; check refrigeration equipment and temperatures at least once per shift; report maintenance problems promptly.
• Follow ladder, lifting, and wet-floor-sign procedures and promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office.
• Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app, explain its benefits, help customers sign up and use it, and monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
