About The Position

Every Huck’s Market Sales Associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, to ensure that the shift contributes to the profitability of the store. The role includes providing courteous customer service, maintaining store appearance and merchandise, operating the sales register accurately, following cash-handling and security procedures, and supporting store safety and maintenance. Associates also promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app and help customers use it. Duties and responsibilities may be revised, and other tasks may be required as circumstances change.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly, including through the gasoline intercom, and provide courteous service according to Best In Class standards.
• Maintain store appearance and ensure the store is open and ready for business during all operating hours.
• Resolve customer conflicts using the company’s MAKE IT RIGHT method.
• Follow the company’s Vision/Mission Statement (T.H.A.N.K.S), applicable laws and ordinances, posted work schedule, and company policies and guidelines.
• Perform tasks assigned by the Store Manager and participate in company contests and suggestive selling.
• Inform the Store Manager of sales, cash, operating, or personnel discrepancies and policy violations that could adversely affect store performance.
• Complete the shift checklist and accurately record all hours worked on the workstation.
• Ring all sales on the register and accurately record voids, refunds, and price overrides.
• Treat coworkers and customers with dignity and respect and comply with the Company Responsible Retailing policy.
• Follow cash-handling, vendor check-in, register, change-fund, safe-security, and shift-change procedures; protect company cash and merchandise.
• Keep coolers, drink boxes, shelves, and displays stocked and fronted; clean and maintain equipment and prepare products such as coffee and fountain drinks as directed.
• Use correct merchandise pricing and suggestive-selling techniques as directed by the Store Manager.
• Keep floors, windows, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and the parking lot clean; check refrigeration performance and temperatures at least once per shift; report maintenance problems promptly.
• Follow ladder, lifting, and wet-floor-sign procedures and promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office.
• Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app, explain its benefits, help customers sign up and use it, and monitor transactions for possible misuse of points or discounts.
