About The Position

The Huck’s Market Sales Associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, to ensure the shift contributes to store profitability. The role includes customer service, sales, accounting, security, merchandising, store maintenance, and safety duties. Associates also promote and assist customers with the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app. Management may revise the job description and assign other tasks as circumstances change.

Responsibilities

Greet customers promptly, including through the gasoline intercom, and provide courteous service according to Best In Class standards.
Maintain the store’s appearance and ensure it is open and ready for business during all hours.
Resolve customer conflicts using the MAKE IT RIGHT method.
Perform assigned tasks, follow applicable laws and company policies, adhere to the posted work schedule, and inform the Store Manager of sales, cash, or operating discrepancies.
Participate in company contests and use suggestive sales techniques.
Complete shift checklists, record hours worked, ring all sales on the register, and accurately record voids, refunds, and price overrides.
Notify the Store Manager about personnel situations or policy violations affecting store performance, treat customers and co-workers with dignity and respect, and comply with the Company Responsible Retailing policy.
Follow cash-handling, vendor check-in, register, safe-security, and shift-change procedures, and protect company cash and merchandise.
Keep coolers, drink boxes, shelves, and displays stocked and fronted; clean and maintain equipment; prepare high-margin products; and use correct merchandise pricing.
Clean floors, windows, shelving, counters, gas pumps, and the parking lot; check refrigeration equipment and temperatures at least once per shift; complete shift-duty checklist items; and report maintenance problems to the Store Manager.
Use ladders and lifting procedures safely, use wet-floor signs as required, and promptly report accidents to the Store Manager and corporate office.
Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app, explain its benefits, help customers sign up and use discounts and redemptions, and monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts.
