Sales Associate (Full-Time) - Sporting Goods/Firearms - Plattsburgh, NY
About The Position
The Sales Associate assists customers throughout a retail store, with a primary focus on providing excellent customer service. Duties may include greeting customers, answering product-related questions, cashiering, assembling products, housekeeping, and other tasks assigned by management. This role serves the sporting goods and firearms departments in Plattsburgh, New York. Candidates must be at least 21 years old to meet federal regulations concerning firearm sales and must have strong knowledge of firearms and firearm sales. The position pays $17.00–$18.00 per hour, depending on experience. The work takes place in a retail store, with exposure to cold and warm conditions and an irregular work schedule. The role involves frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, long periods of standing, and frequent bending and twisting. Reasonable accommodations may be considered for individuals with disabilities.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age to meet federal regulations for firearm sales.

Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with FFL requirements for firearm sales is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assist with customer service questions.
- Price merchandise and make price changes as requested by store management.
- Stock and face merchandise on shelves as requested by store management.
- Assist with receiving freight and organize incoming products as directed by store management.
- Assist with cycle counts.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and handle them appropriately.
- Handle customer transactions using the KCX cash register system.
- Handle cash accurately.
- Handle customer returns.
- Perform housekeeping duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
