Part-Time Sales Associate - Famous Footwear
About The Position
As a Famous Footwear Sales Associate, you provide a welcoming store environment and an engaging shoe-shopping experience that builds customer loyalty. You stay informed about trends, share product knowledge, help customers find styles that meet their needs, and contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture. You support daily retail operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory, while helping keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. You contribute to store performance by reviewing results, driving sales toward goals, communicating with teammates, and upholding company policies. The role may also involve assisting with training and development. Other responsibilities may be performed as needed to meet business needs, and overtime may be required. This is a part-time position. The schedule may be flexible to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours. The role requires frequent physical activity and mobility on the sales floor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
- Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
- Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
- Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, engaging customer service and recommend shoes and styles suited to customers’ needs.
- Stay informed about trends and share product knowledge with customers.
- Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy to shop in accordance with company standards.
- Review store performance and drive sales to achieve goals.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to ensure understanding.
- Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and work toward professional development.
- Promote an inclusive and respectful work environment and support teammates.
- Assist with training and development when needed.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed to meet business needs.
