Full Time - Sales Associate - Plumbing - Closing
About The Position
The Sales Associate is a customer-facing role in Lowe’s Plumbing department, with a closing schedule indicated in the posting title. The associate welcomes customers, helps them locate and select products and services for home improvement projects, answers questions, and provides friendly, professional service. The role includes organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, and occasionally loading merchandise. Associates may also be cross-trained in other store areas and prepare merchandise to meet customer needs, such as cutting or threading pipe. Duties may vary by department and include other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or lift more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as plumbing.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Help customers locate, handle, and select merchandise and services for their home improvement needs.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as cutting and threading pipe.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Occasionally load merchandise.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
