About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, assist with product selection and merchandise handling, and help ensure their needs are met. You will primarily work in the Plumbing department, with responsibilities that may vary by department and store needs. Associates may cross-train in other areas and occasionally load merchandise. The position may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and exposure to noise and moving equipment. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as plumbing, hardware, kitchen, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
- Prepare department merchandise for customer needs, such as cutting and threading pipe.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
