About The Position

Five Below is hiring an Early Morning Sales Associate/Freight Team member to support customers and store operations. The role includes greeting and assisting customers, learning their needs, sharing product knowledge, recommending merchandise, promoting store events and offers, and addressing customer concerns. Associates also communicate restocking and service needs to management and work with their team to support store goals. The position involves frequent use of registers and other store devices, moving and stocking merchandise, retrieving and putting away stock, and assisting customers across the sales floor. The schedule must be flexible to meet business needs and may include day, evening, weekend, or overnight shifts and travel as required. The role is hourly, with a starting rate of $15.00.

Requirements

At least 16 years old.
Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and possibly overnight shifts; travel may be required as needed.
Comfortable using, or willing to learn, computers, cash registers, hand-held devices, and mobile devices.
Able to communicate effectively and engage with customers.
Able to handle customer interactions and concerns courteously and professionally.
Able to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
Able to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
Able to move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
Able to frequently ascend and descend ladders; kneel, bend, twist, and stoop; and remain upright and stationary for 80% of the time.
Able to communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers, in person and by telephone.
Able to identify and understand email and printed instructions related to merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and assist multiple customers efficiently.
Assess customer needs, share product knowledge, answer questions, direct customers to merchandise, and make recommendations.
Use suggestive selling and stay informed about product availability.
Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
Address customer concerns and offer alternative solutions, seeking exchanges when appropriate.
Keep management informed about restocking and service needs and customer feedback.
Collaborate with the team to achieve store and company objectives and contribute to a positive work environment.
Operate cash registers and other store devices.
Move, retrieve, stock, and put away merchandise, including using ladders as needed.
Assist customers across the sales floor and travel to and from the stock room to handle merchandise.
