About The Position

HELP USA is seeking a Safety Monitor Supervisor to oversee Safety Monitors at the Crotona II facility at 745 East 178th Street, Bronx, NY. Safety Monitors are often the first point of contact for residents entering a facility. They help ensure residents’ safety, make residents feel welcome, and set the tone for their stay. The role requires alertness, vigilance, and courtesy while supporting a safe and orderly environment.

The supervisor oversees on-duty Safety Monitors, supports staff training, ensures minimum daily staffing coverage, documents staff problems as necessary, and prepares and submits required administrative reports on time. The position may require night and weekend coverage as needed.

Requirements

• New York State Security Guard License required.
• FDNY F-80 required within 60 days from date of hire.
• FDNY F-02 required within 30 days from date of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience and skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge, experience, or capacity to work with homeless families or individuals and/or disadvantaged populations.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide night and weekend coverage as needed.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft applications.

• Good writing skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Safety Monitors on duty to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Assist in developing training sessions for Safety Monitor staff.
• Ensure minimum daily staff coverage.
• Document individual staff problems as necessary.
• Prepare and submit required administrative reports on time, including Incident Reports and Electronic Patrol Reports.
• Oversee safety monitoring activities, including patrolling facility grounds, ensuring residents and guests are properly signed in, escorting visitors to appropriate destinations, conducting unit inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and preparing incident reports when necessary.
