About The Position

HELP USA is seeking a Safety Monitor Supervisor to oversee Safety Monitors at the assigned facility. Safety Monitors are often the first point of contact for residents entering a facility, helping ensure their safety, making them feel welcome, and setting the tone for their stay. The role requires alert, vigilant, and courteous staff who support residents and visitors while maintaining facility safety and operations.

The supervisor oversees Safety Monitors on duty, supports staff training, maintains minimum daily staffing coverage, documents staff issues as necessary, and completes required administrative reports. The facility is the Crotona II program at 745 East 178th Street, Bronx, NY 10457.

Requirements

• New York State Security Guard License required.
• FDNY F-80 certification required within 60 days from date of hire.
• FDNY F-02 certification required within 30 days from date of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience and skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge, experience, or capacity to work with homeless families or individuals and/or disadvantaged populations.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide night and weekend coverage as needed.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft applications.

• Good writing skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Safety Monitors on duty to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Assist in developing training sessions for Safety Monitor staff.
• Ensure minimum daily staff coverage.
• Document individual staff problems as necessary.
• Prepare and submit required administrative reports on time, including Incident Reports and Electronic Patrol Reports.
• Support facility safety activities, including patrolling grounds, ensuring residents and guests are properly signed in, escorting visitors to destinations, conducting unit inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and preparing incident reports when necessary.
