About The Position

The Assistant Safety Monitor Supervisor oversees Safety Monitors on a shift at an assigned HELP USA facility. Safety Team members are often residents’ first point of contact, helping ensure their safety while making them feel welcome. The role requires an alert, vigilant, and courteous approach to residents and facility operations. Duties include patrolling facility grounds, confirming residents and guests are properly signed in, escorting visitors, conducting unit inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and preparing incident reports when needed.

The position has a consistent schedule of 40 hours per week at the same location, with the same two consecutive days off each week. The role is based at the Haven program in Manhattan, New York.

Requirements

• New York State Security Guard License.
• FDNY F-02 certification, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• FDNY F-80 Fire Coordinator/Fire Guard certification is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience and skills.
• Experience or ability to work with people experiencing homelessness.
• Prior supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Safety Monitors on duty and ensure they adhere to policies and procedures.
• Assist in developing training sessions for Safety Monitor staff.
• Document individual staff problems as necessary.
• Prepare and submit required administrative reports on time, including Incident Reports and Electronic Patrol Reports.
• Patrol facility grounds.
• Ensure residents and guests are properly signed in.
• Escort visitors to their proper destinations.
• Conduct unit inspections.
• Maintain accurate documentation and prepare incident reports when necessary.
