About The Position

AutoNation is hiring an RPR Inventory Coordinator to manage, write, and track reconditioning, pre-delivery inspection (PDI), and inventory recall work. The role coordinates and oversees technicians and porters, ensuring efficient team performance and a compliant reconditioning process. The coordinator is responsible for processing used-vehicle reconditioning, PDI, and recall completion for new and used vehicles in a timely manner, supporting AutoNation’s four-day turnaround target. The role aims to increase used-vehicle gross and monthly sales by preparing high-quality, front-line-ready vehicles, and to increase after-sales internal gross through effective recall, reconditioning, and PDI management.

The coordinator manages internal repair orders, vehicle inspections and estimates, approvals for additional work, reconditioning status in the After-Sales Compass RPR system, parts and labor selections, CPO criteria, and vendor relationships. The position also coordinates staffing with the Service Director or Manager and communicates performance updates with service and sales teams. Compensation is commission-based and estimated at $2,000–$14,000 per month.

Responsibilities

• Write and manage internal repair orders for PDI, CPO, required recalls, and used-vehicle reconditioning.
• Communicate with and allocate work to technicians and porters; oversee and train the team to support efficient performance and compliant reconditioning.
• Process used-vehicle reconditioning, PDI, and recall work for new and used vehicles in a timely manner, supporting the four-day turnaround target.
• Participate in service and sales team meetings and provide updates on prior-day performance.
• Coordinate technician and porter absence schedules with the Service Director or Manager to maintain staffing levels that meet work demands.
• Identify store inventory with open recalls, schedule and complete recall work when parts are available, and liaise with parts and service teams to support timely completion.
• Coordinate recall completion for non-brand products with other company stores or non-company stores as appropriate.
• Conduct vehicle walk-around inspections with the Used Car Manager before reconditioning to identify the required inspection or certification and work needed to meet AutoNation Appearance Standards.
• Prepare comprehensive estimates based on inspections and technician findings, including required work, total cost, and timing before work begins.
• Request approval for additional work through RPR Compass when available.
• Keep repairs on a single repair order and close it by the next business day after work is completed.
• Manage all reconditioning in the After-Sales Compass RPR system and use its functions to maintain vehicle status.
• Ensure suitable parts options and pricing are used for reconditioning work.
• Ensure labor times and sale amounts are based on an approved labor time guide.
• Ensure CPO criteria are met consistently with OEM and AutoNation standards.
• Manage reconditioning vendor relationships to improve quality, cycle time, and the accuracy and timeliness of invoices.
