About The Position

The Retail Parts Inventory Control Associate assures proper control of parts inventory and related administrative functions. The role is responsible for receiving and recording new parts inventory, maintaining parts databases, and maintaining a safe and secure environment. The associate also supports the Parts Manager with orders, assists the Warranty Department and accounting office with parts-related information and documentation, and helps prepare for annual parts inventory.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Ability to interpret vendor catalogs.
• Ability to use the parts department computer system and a calculator.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a dealership position is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain parts inventory by verifying supplies and placing orders when order points are reached.
• Unpack, arrange, and stock items in bins and on shelves, and adjust the inventory system.
• Inspect returned items, repack and reshelve them, and return damaged and unused parts to the supplier.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment by following safety and security standards and procedures and complying with codes.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, such as reading about new products.
• Assist the Parts Manager in processing weekly stock orders and place daily parts orders.
• Ensure credits are received for returned parts and remove returned parts from inventory after credits are received.
• Provide necessary information to the Warranty Department to enable prompt filing of parts warranties.
• Match purchase orders and invoices, approve them, and forward them to the accounting office.
• File company copies of parts counter invoices.
• Assist in preparing for the annual parts inventory.
