About The Position

Johnson Controls is hiring a Route Service & Sales Representative to perform service and shop-support duties related to fire protection equipment. The role includes scheduled service, repair, and recharging of portable fire extinguishers, wheeled units, and kitchen suppression cylinders; hydrostatic testing and repair of fire hoses; and assistance to on-road technicians. Other duties include delivering and picking up items at customer locations and suppliers, preparing orders for shipment, receiving and stocking inventory, maintaining shop cleanliness, and repairing service equipment as needed.

The position offers an hourly rate of $16.44–$22.59, determined based on factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market data. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

• Capability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to adhere to and consistently follow safety guidelines and procedures.
• Self-starter able to work with little to no supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing, repair, and recharging of hand portable fire extinguishers, wheeled units, and kitchen suppression cylinders.
• Perform hydrostatic testing and repair of fire hoses.
• Assist on-road technicians with required work.
• Deliver and pick up items at customer locations and suppliers when required.
• Pick orders to prepare them for shipping.
• Receive and put stock away in designated areas.
• Maintain general cleanliness throughout the shop and work area.
• Repair service equipment where required.
