About The Position

The Route Sales Representative meets customer needs through up-selling and cross-selling while providing superior customer service and proactively managing all route responsibilities. The role safely operates a delivery vehicle, makes timely and accurate deliveries of textile and facility-maintenance products, collects soiled textiles, maintains account inventories, processes customer payments, and completes route paperwork and check-in procedures. The position reports to the District Manager and may support other service personnel as directed. The role requires daily travel by delivery vehicle within an assigned route.

Requirements

Maintain a valid driver's license and a CDL when applicable.
Maintain a driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding, and safety violations.
Demonstrate excellent vehicle-operation skills and have at least one year of verifiable safe and successful driving experience.
Demonstrate excellent customer-service and route-sales skills.
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to comprehend and follow directions, good time-management skills, and the ability to work as a team player.
Recognize product colors, sizes, and types, and count, add, and subtract accurately.
High school graduation or similar experience.

Responsibilities

Solicit new customers; up-sell, cross-sell, and sample service or product lines while ensuring a profitable product mix.
Participate in promotions, contests, training, and audits.
Follow company policies and procedures for installing new customers, managing customer needs, and delivering service; meet performance goals regularly.
Build customer loyalty and retention by providing outstanding service, communicating openly, educating customers, managing needs, and resolving concerns in cooperation with supervision.
Safely operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable laws and company policy; keep the vehicle clean and conduct regular inspections.
Handle and process customer payments and keep route paperwork current.
Make timely and correct deliveries of complete textile loads, pick up soiled textiles, maintain proper account inventories, and service facility-maintenance products.
Monitor and report competitive activity and keep service agreements current and renewed.
Return from the route and unload soiled textiles in the facility receiving area.
Accurately prepare route paperwork and follow check-in procedures.
Follow written and verbal instructions and perform other duties as directed by supervision.
Work with and support other service personnel when required by supervision.
