About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Room Service Ambassador for its Edgewood Nutrition Services Team. The role serves patient meals in a personalized, professional, and efficient manner and helps patients use the meal-ordering system. The ambassador works with patients and nursing unit personnel to support appropriate meal delivery, address meal concerns, and help ensure patients’ nutritional intake. The role also includes food-supply inventory, guest-tray cash handling, sanitation and safety compliance, and participation in performance-improvement activities.

Responsibilities

Serve and deliver patient meals using service-excellence standards and the AIDET model.
Instruct patients on the meal-ordering system, assess their ability to use it, and assist them with placing meal orders.
Recognize patients’ special needs, diet types, and restrictions, and provide appropriate assistance.
Communicate with the healthcare team and assigned nursing unit personnel about nutritional intake, glucose monitoring, menu delivery, meal concerns, and special situations.
Resolve patient meal issues promptly and positively.
Inventory, order, and replenish bulk food supplies, or floor stocks, on the assigned nursing unit.
Monitor and maintain effective cash-handling and accounting practices for patient guest-tray service.
Follow hand-hygiene, isolation, hair-restraint, sanitation, safety, security, and other regulatory standards.
Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance and demonstrate courteous, respectful, and empathetic behavior.
Participate in performance-improvement studies, assist with data collection, and support action plans.
Perform other duties as assigned.
