About The Position

The Room Attendant performs cleaning duties to maintain hotel rooms in a clean and orderly manner. The role includes preparing rooms to brand standards within expected cleaning times, maintaining a stocked housekeeping cart, reporting maintenance issues and unsafe conditions, and communicating room status and guest requests to a supervisor. Associates are paid weekly. Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality, respectful conduct, teamwork, and completing other assigned duties, including cross-training, are essential.

Requirements

Must pass a criminal background check.
Ability to manage time, including planning and prioritizing time spent per room.
Ability to communicate with guests, management, and team members.
Ability to work under time constraints and in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to meet productivity standards and follow policies, procedures, and safety procedures.
Ability to lift and carry an average weight of 20 pounds frequently and a maximum weight of 50 pounds frequently.
Ability to push and pull an average weight of 50 pounds frequently and a maximum weight of 150 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk up to two miles per day on cement, tile, asphalt, and carpet.
Ability to reach overhead and perform repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, and twisting.

Responsibilities

Make beds, replenish linens, and clean rooms, bathrooms, halls, and floors by vacuuming.
Load and unload the housekeeping cart, replace cleaning supplies, and keep the cart clean, neat, and stocked.
Report problems, maintenance repairs, and unsafe conditions.
Communicate room status, work progress, guest requests, and guest problems to the supervisor.
Record and turn in lost-and-found items.
Meet brand-standard room cleaning times and work within recognized time frames for tasks.
Follow applicable policies, procedures, and safety procedures; use required protective equipment when operating equipment.
Complete other assigned duties, including cross-training.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality and contribute to respectful, positive, productive teamwork.
